Seiko - Prospex Save The Ocean Antarctic Ice
Seiko introduces in the Prospex collection a new interpretation of the 1968 underwater watch, even better equipped to face the challenge of the most extreme conditions on the mainland. This watch, with its advanced specifications, was worn by the members of the 63° Japanese Antarctic Research expedition. The case, bezel and crown are all made of Seiko Ever-Brilliant steel. To ensure the duration of the watch, the crown is blocked in a separate component integrated into the case. The watch is powered by the 8L35 caliber, specially developed for underwater watches and hand assembled by Shizukuishi Watch Studio craftsmen in northern Japan. The structured dial evokes the antarctic landscape, while the subtle gradation of blue, from light to dark, echoes the beautiful colors of the polar ice. This new Prospex watch is available in a limited edition of 1,300 pieces.
